Bangladesh ranks the lowest among 58 economies in the world with the highest population of female workforce according to the Mastercard Index of Women Entrepreneurs 2020. In other words, the country has proven to be an extremely difficult platform for women to thrive in the world of business. Reasons for the lack of progress include social, cultural and financial constraints that are imposed upon women from an early age.

Experts agree that the power infrastructure sector in Bangladesh requires extensive development to provide uninterrupted and safe access of electricity to its rural population. This has created room for expansion and innovation in the field on both a micro and macro level. In order to bolster the development of the power sector, the Bangladesh government has prioritized widespread rural electrification in recent years. That being said, there are a number of critical technical errors that serve as a stumbling block to the success of this national endeavor.
